Applications of 10 kV HV VFD

Background:


There was a group engaging primarily in tire business. Apart from such predominant business, this group owned flourishing, varying auxiliary businesses as well, making it a diversified group company covering eight major industries and fields, i.e. tire manufacture, M&E equipment, combined heat and power generation, real estate, warehousing and logistics, trade and travel, medical service and technical service. With its more than 20 subsidiaries, it was listed in the top 500 large-scale enterprises in China, top 500 manufacturers in China, top 20 tire manufacturers in the world and top 5 tire manufacturers in China. One of its subsidiaries, a thermal power company in Zhaoyuan, had incorporated combined heat and power generation, central heat supply and cement production in one to achieve comprehensive, circulating, deep exploitation of energy. We were the supplier of the 10 kV HV VFDs for their “Initial Station VFD” project.


Product overview:


The CY series 10 kV HV variable frequency speed control system is a high-high voltage source VFD employing the new type of IGBT power devices and all-digital micro-computer control; comprising mainly of phase-shift transformers, power units and controllers; incorporating space voltage vector control technology and power unit series multi-level technology; and outputting directly a voltage of 10 kV. The design targets of the company are high reliability, easy operation and high performance that fulfill the urgent needs of users on various load regulation, energy conservation and improvement of production technology.

● Operational without de-rating under -10°C - 40°C (the ambient temperature variation shall be ≤ 5 °C/h);

● Permitted voltage fluctuation: Voltage: +10% - -10%, frequency: ±5%, -10% - -35% de-rated continuous operation;

● Brilliant cooling design, cooling fan with large flow rate on top of the cabinet, low wind resistance, high dust resistance, readily removable intake strainer;

● Easy installation, setting and commissioning;

● Space voltage vector control technology;

● Transient off-on function;

● Carrier phase-shifting control technology;

● Runaway Starting technology;

● Neutral Drift technology;

● Integrated PID regulator;

● Operational upon control power failure;

● Complete design functions of parameter setting of VFDs;

● Input and output of multi-channel industrial standard signals of 4 - 20 mA for interfacing with users’ DCS system; and

● Using communication protocols of MODBUS and PROFBUS, granting it the ability to communicate with the host computer;
