The load is nonlinear and impactive, and has given rise to a series of power quality problems, mainly including low power factor, high harmonic content, three-phase imbalance, power impact, voltage flicker and voltage fluctuation.

Hazards of power quality problems


1. Low power factor of will increase power grid loss, enlarge production cost and reduce production efficiency.

2. Frequent starting of the actuator will give rise to VAR impact, and thus decrease in grid voltage, voltage fluctuation, voltage flicker, and even malfunctions of actuators and protective devices, affecting production activities.

3. With the use of VFDs and other electric and electronic equipment, high harmonics will be generated and lead to time varying of grid voltage and current.
